David Hamilton Nicol
David Hamilton Nicol, 88, born July 13, 1920, died November 30, 2008.
Mr. Nicol graduated from Hower Trade High School in Akron, served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Pacific Theater, and retired from the Lawson Milk Co. with 28 years of service. He was a member of Cuyahoga Falls Lodge #735 F&AM and of Yusef Kahn Grotto.
Preceded in death by parents, John A. and Marion P. and sister, Bethea Boyd, he is survived and will be missed by his wife of 54 years, Sarah; sons and daughters-in-law, David and Sandy and Mark and Donna; four grandchildren, Aaron, Kory, Lisa and Julia; brothers-in-law, John Boyd and George Young.
The family is thankful for the staff and friends at Hickory Ridge Nursing Home for their compassion and care over the past three months.
Services will be held 11 a.m. WEDNESDAY at the Billow FALLS Chapel, 1907 23rd St., with Dr. Donard M. Engle officiating. Interment at Northlawn Memorial Gardens with military honors by Charles Faust Post #281 American Legion. Friends may call at the funeral home TODAY from 5 to 8 p.m. If you care to make a donation in honor of Mr. Nicol, please do so to Hickory Ridge or the Haven of Rest shelter.
