David Ochsenhirt

David J. Ochsenhirt, 67, passed away on March 7, 2018, surrounded by his loved ones. David was born in Akron on May 4, 1951. He attended St. Vincent High School and The College of Wooster. Dave was the President of Akron Concrete Corporation, which was formed in 1974 with his brother, Michael. He loved his career, most especially working with the many employees over the years to get the job done. He truly appreciated the efforts and professionalism of the people he worked with.

Preceded in death by his parents, Russell & Rose Ochsenhirt; brother and sister-in-law, Tim and Nancy Ochsenhirt; sister and brother-in-law, Terri and George Isoma; parents-in-law, Agatha and Fritz Griebel; and brother-in-law, Tom Griebel; David is survived by his spouse of 36 years, Renata Ochsenhirt; sons, Russell (Goda) Ochsenhirt, Mark (Leah) Ochsenhirt, Joseph Ochsenhirt; granddaughter and love of his life, Adriana/Izzy Ochsenhirt; sisters, Bonnie (Jack) Trickett, Mary (John) Cavileer, and Jean Ochsenhirt; brother, Michael (Pola) Ochsenhirt; sister-in-law, Kathy (Andy) Kasarda; and brother-in-law, Larry (Cindy) Griebel. David also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews of whom he was very proud. Growing up David was blessed to be part of a large extended family - Grafs, Hilkerts, Botzums and Hendricksons. The tales are endless.

Conquering many health challenges in the last five years, he fought hard and we are grateful that he was able to experience the marriages of two of his children and especially, the birth of his first grandchild. We are lucky to have had him for as long as we did.

Join us in a Celebration of Life, Saturday, March 10 from 7-10 p.m. at the Hilton Fairlawn, 3180 W. Market St, Akron 44333. Private interment.
