David Roughley

David Roughley, 78, died September 23, 2013.
A life resident of Akron, Mr. Roughley served as a Lieutenant in the US Army from 1956-1959 where he was a paratrooper and artillery officer. He was the founder of Roughley and Jones Insurance Agency and was a member of Montrose Zion United Methodist Church where he sang in the choir for many years. He was a graduate of The University of Akron and member Phi Delta Theta Fraternity, past president of the Fairlawn Chamber of Commerce and was the 1989 Citizen of the Year. David volunteered for many years at the golf tournaments at Firestone Country Club and was Tournament Chairman of the 1971 American Golf Classic.
Mr. Roughley is survived by wife, Donnalee; daughter and son in law, Lesley Roughley (Frank) Kovach of Richmond, VA.; son, David Weston Roughley of Akron; brother, Richard W. (Nancy) Roughley of Seattle, WA.; and grandchildren, Daniel James and Jill Elizabeth Kovach.

A memorial service will be held 3:00 p.m. Saturday, September 28th at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., with Rev. Dr. Walter S. Chisholm officiating. Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. until service time. Should friends desire, memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 70 W. Streetsboro Rd. #201, Hudson, OH 44236. (Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel)
