Dayton D. Ford, Jr.
Dayton D. Ford, Jr., 81, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family from a short battle with pancreatic cancer.
Preceded in death by wife of 42 years, Janet; daughter, Gina; son, Dayton Raymond; and three sisters; he was joined in death by his best friend of 16 years, Cricket. He is survived by daughter, Susie Tom Kiehl; son, Scott; grandchildren, Morgan Kyle Halsey, Nic Danielle Kiehl, Ryan and Graham Ford; Ryan and Graham"s mother, Carina Ford; brothers, Bill Raye Anne Ford and Jack Pam Ford; many nieces and nephews; and loving friend, Barbara Sauders.
Special thanks to Bill and Raye Anne Ford for their loving care the last few months; hospice nurse, Heather; Pastor Mike and Michelle from Hospice of Summa; and Dr. Krutky.
A "Celebration of Life" will take place at Susie and Tom Kiehl"s, 1270 N. Hametown Rd., Akron 44333 on Thursday, July 30, 2009 at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to One of a Kind Pets, a no kill rescue, 1699 W. Market St., Akron 44313.
