Dean Charles Prosperi, 69, died June 7, 2016 in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
Born February 4, 1947 in Akron to Amos and Lela Marcey, he was a graduate of Firestone High School and the University of Akron. Dean had been a patrolman for the Akron Police Department and had worked for the Summit County Engineer's Department. A U.S. Army veteran, he was a member of V.F.W. Post 349 and St. Luke's Anglican Church in Copley.
Preceded in death by his father, Amos Marcey; he is survived by his wife, Sue Prosperi; children, Kathy Wallace (Chris Perrera), Shelly Cmunt (Greg Marburger) and Matthew Green (Joanna Green); grandchildren, Morgan, Bryce, Chance, Sophia, MacKenzie and Landon; mother and father, Lela and Anthony Prosperi; brothers, Michael Prosperi and Milton (Lori) Prosperi; sister, Mary (John) Outten.
A celebration of Dean's life will be held 1 p.m. SATURDAY at St. Luke's Ministries. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the service. Private Inurnment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Victims Assistance, 150 Furnace St, Akron, OH 44304; St. Luke's Ministries, 3810 Ridgewood Rd., Copley 44321; or Grand Strand Medical Center, PCU, 809 82nd Pkwy, Myrtle Beach, SC 29572.
