Delores Blower born December 17, 1926, was the type of person that knew how to be a friend. She was born in St. Louis Missouri and moved to Akron, Ohio upon marrying her husband George of 64 years.
Her accomplish-ments in life were not measured by public acclaim or social status. Rather, she provided her generation and family the rare and often unrecognized gift of human decency, good humor, and the capacity to inspire the same in others. Delores raised ten children during the tumultuous times of the 50's and 60's, all the while insuring that each was cherished and admired for who they were becoming. Each of her children have gone on to live rewarding and happy lives. As a wife she was spirited, independent, challenging, and deeply in love with her husband. As a mother Delores was firm and fun loving, demanding respect and rewarding her children with understanding and compassion. She was unequaled as a mother-in-law because of her loyalty to her children's spouses.
Delores was the grandmother of 43 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Each of them received her love without partiality especially the babies and knew they could find sage and fair advise from her. Delores loved to be with friends and family. At her table there was never an absence of laughter or meaningful conversation. She also loved long car rides, hated to have her picture taken, and enjoyed shopping. Her greatest delight was observing her family interact happily with one another. She had an artist's soul and could find beauty in most things.
Delores was preceded in death by her parents, Eula and Peter Georges; her husband, George; daughter-in-law, Tammy; and grandchildren, Timmy John, Sophie, Sasha, and Brenden. She is survived by her ten children and their spouses, George Pat, Paul Carol, Judy, Sandy Kim, Greg, Jeanne, Sharon Jeff, Tim Holly, Kevin Patty, and Shannon Sherie; and her many grand-children, great- grandchildren, and great-great- grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, November 3, at The Church at Stony Hill in Granger Township, 2756 Stony Hill Rd., Medina 44256. Interment at Northampton Cemetery. Delores will be missed, but her legacy lives within the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her.
