Delores "Jeannine" Lizak

November 17, 1942 — September 5, 2023

Medina

Delores “Jeannine” Lizak (nee Grimes), 80, of Medina County passed away peacefully on September 5, 2023.
Jeannine was born on November 17, 1942, in Zanesville, Ohio to the late Paul B. Grimes and Thelma Standley Grimes.
Jeannine was a longtime resident of the Akron area and attended Garfield High School until 1960.  In 1970 she began a career in retail management for TJX Companies, known as “Zayre” at the time.  At a time when many women did not work, Jeannine took pride in her career and fully supported the women’s liberation movement.  She felt no goal was too high to achieve, and her hard work and dedication led to her eventual position as President of Portage Knife Company, Inc. in Mogadore, Ohio.  She held the role for approximately 20 years and remained President Emeritus up until her death.
Jeannine was always an adventurer and enjoyed the outdoors.  She enjoyed traveling abroad, horseback riding, and driving fast, much to the chagrin of her insurance company. She never shied away from any adventure including white water rafting, skiing, hiking, and anything that demonstrated the strength of women.  She loved any activity that proved that women could do anything that men could.
Jeannine loved painting, gardening, decorating, and expressing herself through beautiful art she created.  She frequented art museums and loved Monet especially.  Of all her hobbies, her favorite activity was always spending time with her precious loved ones.  If you were lucky enough to be her family, you always knew how loved you were.
Jeannine is preceded in death by her two beloved sons, William “Duane” Huff and David Paul Huff, and partner James Rozic.  She is survived by her sister, Mary Lou (Robert) Govia; son, Adam (Robin) Huff; grandchildren, Ashley (Matt) St. Pierre, Cody (Alyxandria Fiancé) Huff, Erika Rozic, Nick (Michelle) Huff, Will Huff, Larissa Huff, and Brennan Huff, and seven wonderful great-grandchildren.
