On Monday, March 17, 2025, our world lost a beautiful soul when Dennis Kay, age 82, passed away in Akron, Ohio surrounded by his family. Denny was born in Cleveland, Ohio on February 25, 1943, to John and Wandie Kay. He was an only child who was surrounded by the love of not just his parents, but also his grandparents who helped to raise him. He was the light of their lives.
Denny attended Parma Senior High School and was a member of the wrestling team. After graduation he went to Kent State University where he studied Business and Sociology. It was there that he met a young lady by the name of Rita King. They dated for three years before getting married right after graduation and had been married 59 years. Denny worked in Purchasing and Sales, and was a business owner for the majority of his working career. When his children were young, one of his greatest joys was practicing their sports with them in the backyard and coaching their Little League teams.
Denny was a genuinely good man. He was kind, compassionate, loyal and had a great sense of humor. He was a man with integrity who always put his family first. Most importantly though, he loved his Lord.
As a family man, Denny was unparalleled. His love for his family was the cornerstone of his life. He leaves behind to cherish his memory; his wife, Rita; daughter, Shelly (Tom); son, Ryan (Christi) and his five beautiful grandchildren; Jacob, Daniel, Kennedy, Connor and Tyler Grace.
