Dixie V. Blankenship, 103, died December 23, 2014.
She was born May 19, 1911 in Almo, KY to Dr. Y.Y. and Lillie Miller, and had lived in the Akron area since 1933. She was a member of the West Hill Baptist Church and had been active for many years in the D.M.A.
Preceded in death by her husband, Wasil E.; sister, Lucille Barber and nephew, Richard Miller; she is survived by her nephew, Thomas Blankenship of Washington State; and dearest friends, Joseph Poor and Betty (William) Smith, who will miss her deeply.
Special thanks to Rockynol Nursing and Senior Independence Hospice for their excellent care.
Services will be held 11 a.m. MONDAY at the West Hill Baptist Church with Pastor Aaron Varner officiating. Private interment at Copley Cemetery. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to West Hill Baptist Church, 605 N. Revere Rd., Akron 44333.
