Don L. Corbett

Don L. Corbett, 84, of Bath Twp. passed away peacefully at home on December 6, 2021. Don was born in Akron, Ohio on March 9, 1937 to the late Merle and Mary (Keim) Corbett.

He was a graduate of Garfield High School class of 1954 and a graduate of Kent State University. After graduating from high school, he began his career at Goodyear Tire and Rubber as an Apprentice Pipefitter, eventually becoming a Journeyman Pipefitter. While at Goodyear, he completed the Squadron Program and became Supervisor of the Apprentice School, and subsequently became Manager of Safety at Goodyear Plant 2. He then moved on to Goodrich Tire and Rubber, where he worked in corporate safety, traveling throughout the country inspecting various facilities. In 1980, he started his own Service Master Professional Cleaning franchise in Fairlawn, which he owned and operated for 30 years. His interests included water skiing, outdoor activities and was a member of the National Ski Patrol for 42 years at Boston Mills Ski Resort. But most of all his relationship with God and his church, Bethel Lutheran Church, were central in his life.

He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Becky (nee Morgan); children Scott (Jill) Beebe and Carrie (Larry) Gardiner; and was also a wonderful Boppy to his grandchildren, Jake and Henry Beebe and Becca Gardiner; sister Doris (Robert) Saloiye; brothers Jim and Tom Corbett; many other loving family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Friday, December 10, 2021 at Bethel Lutheran Church, 3852 Everett Rd. Richfield, Ohio 44286. Family and friends may visit from 4-7 PM on Thursday December 9, 2021 at Billow Funeral Home, 85 N. Miller Rd. Fairlawn, Ohio 44333. Private inurnment. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bethel Lutheran Church Music Program at PO Box 207 Bath, Ohio 44210.
