Dona R. Cunningham

Dona R. Cunningham, age 94, of Cuyahoga Falls, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 14, 2022.

She was born February 8, 1928, in Sharon, PA; daughter of the late Otto and Mildred Rosacker. Dona graduated in 1946 from Sharon High School as the salutatorian of her class. In 1948, she married the love of her life, Dennis Cunningham. Together, they moved to Cuyahoga Falls in 1956 when Dennis moved from Westinghouse in Sharon to Goodyear Aerospace in Akron, OH. Dona was a proud member of Community of Christ Church. She served in many capacities, including the Office of Elder, music director, and teacher. She accompanied the congregation on piano and organ for over 80 years, beginning at the age of eight. Dona enjoyed quilting, knitting, sewing, and crocheting and was also a worldwide traveler. Most importantly, Dona loved her family and friends and never missed an opportunity to spend time with them.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dennis; brother, George; and grandchildren, Andy and Sheri Higgins.

Dona is survived by her loving children, Georgia (Rusty) Higgins, Denna (Jeffrey) Patterson, and Daniel (Christine) Cunningham; grandchildren, David (Gina), Benjamin (Kelly), Erin Rose (Jeff Majsterek) Higgins; great grandchildren, Melanie, Breanna, Jessika, Aneisa, Elijah, Cooper, and Brooks; great-great grandchildren, Adrian and Legend; niece, Lori Galloway; and dear friends, Suzanne and Renee Patterson whom she loved as family.

A private family service will take place at a later date.
