Donald E. Esker, Jr., 63, died August 30, 2010 following a long battle with multiple myeloma.
He was born in Akron and was a lifetime area resident. A six year veteran of the U.S. Navy, he served a year in Vietnam. He graduated from the University of Akron and had been employed by Marsh & McLennan in Cleveland for 30 years. He was a member of St. Hilary Catholic Church.
The son of Donald E. Esker, Sr. deceased and Thelma Esker; he leaves his loving wife of 36 years, Sharon Nickolich Esker and his son, Donald Anton Esker, along with Donald's fiancé, Alicia Postigo; brothers and sisters, Pat Gray, Bill Barb Esker, Deb Paul Bahm, Rick Diane Esker, Mary Ann Dave Kent, Chris Kay Esker, Steve Cathi Esker. Don also leaves behind 19 loving nieces and nephews and 12 great nieces and nephews.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30 a.m. FRIDAY at St. Hilary Catholic Church, 2750 W. Market St. Please meet at the church. Cremation will follow the Mass. Friends may call at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., 5-8 p.m. THURSDAY. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Donor Services, P.O.
