Donald E. "Don" Hazlett, age 74, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 30, 2015.
Born December 28, 1940 in Franklin, PA., he was born to Lawrence and Myrtle (Snow) Hazlett.
Don graduated from Hubbard High School; he then enlisted in the U.S. Air Force where he proudly served for 20 years, including a tour in Vietnam; he retired in 1980. He went on to work for Aetna Life Insurance Company as well as volunteering for several years at the Harbor Light Hospice in Monroe Falls. He was a member of Lighthouse Christian Fellowship. He was an avid bowler in a senior bowling league and loved fishing and watching football.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Liz; daughters Melissa (Tom) Flick and Melanie (John) Neal; grandchildren Eliza, Sam, Stacie, Noah, and Melina; one brother Terry (Karen) Hazlett and four sisters: Karen Snyder, Charlotte (Ken) Weisser, Debbie Javorsky, and Linda Clary.
He was preceded in death by his parents Lawrence and Dorothy Hazlett, a brother Ronnie and a sister Sue.
Friends will be received at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., Akron, Ohio 44333, on Thursday from 5-8 P.M. where services will be held on Friday, September 4, 2015 at 10:30 A.M. with Pastor Cary Wadle officiating. Burial with military honors will take place at Rose Hill Burial Park.
