Donald "Don" E. Hill

Donald "Don" E. Hill, 92, passed away April 3, 2012.
Born in Conners-ville, Indiana, he lived most of his life in the Akron area. Don retired in 1984 from Goodyear Aerospace after 43 years of combined service with Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and earned the Silver Beaver Award in support of Scouting. He loved watercolor painting and taking his grandchildren for walks in the MetroParks.
Preceded in death by his son, James "Jim" of Alabama and sister, Thelma Post of Huron, he is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Catherine; sons, Gary (Connie) of Canton, Doug (Betty) of Colorado; daughter-in-law, Jean Hill of Alabama; grandchildren, Danny, Andrew, Jenny, Mike, Noelle, Tom, Cathy, Becky; and nine great-grandchildren.
Service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at Faith Lutheran Church, 2726 W. Market St., Akron, with Rev. Jean Hansen officiating. Entombment at Rose Hill Burial Park. Friends may call 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the church on Tuesday.
