Donald McNear Knight, 85, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2011.
Born in Wheeling, W.Va. on February 16, 1926, he served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II and graduated from West Virginia University. An Akron resident since 1952, he worked as a financial analyst for the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co.
Preceded in death by his loving wife of 47 years, Suzanne; Mr. Knight is survived by his brother, Wilson B. Knight of Idaho Falls; daughter, Pamela Joseph Sardone of Wadsworth; sons, David of Covington, Ga. and Mark Susan of Shaker Heights; grandchildren, Jennifer Anand Ponnappan, Michael Tracy Sardone and Emily Knight; great-grandchildren, Avi and Asha Ponnappan.
There are no calling hours. Private inurnment at Rose Hill Burial Park. Memorials may be made to Crossroads Hospice, 3743 Boettler Oaks Drive, Suite E, Green, Ohio 44685.
