Donald K. Stutler, of Akron, Ohio, passed away Sunday, November 18, 2018, surrounded by his loving family.
Donald was born on August 8, 1931, to the late Dayton and Dorothy Stutler in Hamtramck, Michigan. He graduated from high school in 1947 and entered the Navy in July 1950, where he served on the USS O'Brien, during the Korean conflict.
After his return from Korea, Donald and his brother Paul Stutler started Stutler Leasing, Inc., where Donald continued to work until his death. He was a 50 year member of Fairlawn Country Club enjoying his weekend golf rounds and midafternoon gin games. He served as President from 1977-1978.
Donald was preceded in death by Ann, his loving wife of 60 years. He leaves behind his three devoted children, Susan ( Andy) Morison, Sharon Paige (Michael Wong), and Scott ( Dorie) Stutler ; eight grandchildren, Taylor (Doree) Morison, Kaitlyn (Bradley) Dunn, Anna Morison, James (Jessica) Paige, Jennifer Paige, Sarah, Hannah, and Rebecca Stutler; and one great granddaughter, Macklyn Dunn.
The family would like to give special thanks to the wonderful, loving staff at Cleveland Clinic Hospice Care Center.
Calling hours will be SATURDAY, December 1, 2018, from 10am-noon, at Billow Fairlawn Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., Akron, 44333, with a memorial service immediately following officiated by Reverend Jon Hauerwas. Private interment will be held at Rose Hill Burial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials honoring Donald are requested to be made to the Summa Cancer Institute, c/o The Summa Foundation, 525 East Market Street, Akron, OH 44304.
