Donald D. Vowles, 95, died September 6, 2011.
Born in Richfield, Ohio, he lived there all of his life. He attended college and was employed with Ohio Edison for 43 years serving as Corporate Secretary until his retirement in 1980. Donald was a longtime member of the Richfield United Church of Christ and a 65 year member of Meridian Sun Lodge #69, F.&A.M. He volunteered at and was a member of Richfield Senior Center, the Richfield Platinum 80's, and the Hilltoppers.
Preceded in death by parents, DeForest and Anna Vowles; wife of 69 years, Eileen; daughter, Nancy Snowball; and sister, Evelyn Swan; he is survived by son, David and his wife, Linda; grandchildren, David Angie Snowball, Steven Michele Snowball, Jennifer Padget fiancé, Mike, Cathy Bob Wolverton, Matt Amanda Vowles; 13 great-grandchildren, Jack, Grant, Brock, Ava Snowball, Claire, Kyle, Paige, Adam Snowball, Sarah and Emily Wolverton, Jacob Padget, Logan and Olivia Vowles; son-in-law, Jerry Snowball; and sister, Luella Eugene Mortimer.
Services will be held 1:30 p.m. FRIDAY at Richfield United Church of Christ, with Rev. Raymond W. Deuring officiating. Interment at West Richfield Cemetery. Friends may call at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., THURSDAY from 4 to 7 p.m., where Masonic services will be held at 7 p.m. If desired, memorials to Richfield UCC, 4340 W.
