Dora K. Mobley, 93, passed away July 4, 2012.
She was born on February 4, 1919 in Barberton to British immigrant parents, Joseph and Susan Hayden. She married Roy Mobley in 1942 , resided in the Akron area her entire life and was a devoted mother to her three childrena�"David, Kathleen and Karen. Dora became a Licensed Practical Nurse in 1964 and worked at Akron City Hospital for twenty years, primarily in the Emergency Room. She loved being a nurse and maintained strong friendships with many of her co-workers from the ER throughout her life. She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church for 70 years.
Preceded in death by her husband and siblings, Charles, George and Isabelle; Dora is survived by her children, David Mobley, Kathy Jones and Karen (Don) Mullen; and grandchildren, Michael (Amy) and Patrick (Allyson) Mobley, Rachel (Giles) Manias, Robert (Theresa) and Derek Mullen; eleven great-grandchildren; numerous relatives and friends.
Her family would like to recognize the residents and staff at Chambrel where she lived for the past twelve years. Special thanks goes to the Heatherwood Hall staff who cared for her in recent years.
Dora spent her last few months in the care of Hospice of Visiting Nurse Service. Her
family is especially grateful for the excellent care received by home care and inpatient staff, physicians and volunteers who supported her through her final journey.
Per Dora's request, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, July 12, in the Chapel of St. Paul's Episcopal Church with inurnment in the Memorial Garden. Friends may call at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., on Wednesday, July 11, from 4:00 - 8:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Choirs of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 1361 W.
