Doris M. Gelin, 80, died September 15, 2012.
Born in St. Paul, Minn., she lived in the Akron area most of her life. She enjoyed showing dogs and horses in the show ring, playing the piano, and was an artist.
Preceded in death by husband, Edwin; she is survived by her daughter, Vicki (Greg) Thomas of Rittman; nieces, Jean (William) Charles, Betsy Gelin, Peggy (Ray) Pilcher and nephew, Peter Gelin.
Services will be held 10 a.m. FRIDAY at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., with Rev. Byron Arledge officiating. Interment at Rose Hill Burial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home THURSDAY, from 4 to 7 p.m. Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Greater Akron, 7996 Darrow Rd., Twinsburg, OH 44087.
