Doris Jean Martin
Doris Jean Martin, 81, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on December 29, 2017. Her husband, Ronald, preceded her in death in 2007.
She was born in Dayton, Ohio and worked for Wright-Patterson AFB for 22 years. She relocated to Fairlawn in 1995. Prior to her husband's passing, she and Ron traveled the country fulltime in an RV for four years. She enjoyed traveling and was able to visit all 50 states, including Alaska and Hawaii, as well as Europe. Doris was a member of The Chapel in Akron, where she leaves many dear friends. She also leaves two daughters, Kathleen Martin of Silver Spring, MD and Karen (Gary) Gross of Akron; and two grandchildren, Marisa and Ryan Gross. She is also survived by brother, Ronald Ginger (Myra) of Mason, Ohio; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be Thursday from 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Road, with services conducted by the Rev. Steve Bucy immediately following at 5:00 p.m. A private graveside service will be conducted at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Haven of Rest.
