Dorothy Briggs, 90, died Nov. 9, 2011.
Dorothy was born Aug. 7, 1921 in Wooster, Ohio to Dave and Minnie Stevic. She grew up in Marshallville and later moved to Akron where she graduated from North High School. She worked for Workers Comp for 21 years and then graduated Cum Laude from The University of Akron with a degree in English Literature. She married Charles Briggs in 1947, the beginning of a 64 year marriage. She helped in building their home in Fairlawn where they lived for 55 years before moving to Rockynol Retirement Community. She and Charles used their vacations to visit 48 states, National Parks, Battle Fields, countries in Europe six times plus a visit to China. She was a member of Montrose Zion United Methodist Church, Summit County Historical Society, and the College Club of Akron.
Mrs. Briggs leaves her husband, Charles; and brothers, Jack Dorothy, William Joanne, and Kenneth Stevic; several nieces and nephews; and Bitty cat.
She requested no services or calling hours. Special thanks to Crossroads Hospice for their loving care.
