Dorothy Peeler Buxton, "Mrs B" to friends and family, age 86, of Fairlawn, Ohio, went home to be with her heavenly father Thursday, December 1, 2011. Mrs. Buxton was married to Albert Buxton for sixty-four years. Mr. Buxton preceded Mrs. Buxton in death by four days.
Dorothy, born in Silver Creek, Mississippi, October 6, 1925, was the sixth and last child of William Isaac and Ina Miller Peeler. Mrs. Buxton graduated from Silver Creek High School and Mississippi College, Clinton, Mississippi. While attending Mississippi College, she met Albert Buxton. They were married on April 20, 1947 in Calvary Baptist Church, Silver Creek, Mississippi.
Mrs. Buxton was a person of many talents. She enjoyed reading, handwork, china painting, and bridge playing. Gardening brought her particular joy. Along with her husband, she actively participated in the life of First Baptist Church of Akron, Ohio, where they were members for over fifty years.
She is warmly remembered by those who loved her. Son, Albert Clayton Buxton Jr.; daughter-in-law, Cynthia Buxton; daughter, Donna Lynn Romanowski; son-in-law, William David Romanowski; son, James Edward Buxton; granddaughter, Christine Marie Buxton; grandson, Michael James Romanowski; granddaughter, Tara Lynn Romanowski; and several beloved nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, December 10, 3:30 p.m., at First Baptist Church of Akron, 1670 Shatto Ave., Akron, Ohio. Interment will be in Silver Creek, Mississippi.
