Dorothy Rose Engler, nee Deickman, aged 97, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2024, with her daughter Carol Engler Hale by her side, in Akron, Ohio. Born on October 20, 1926, in Baltimore, Maryland, she was the cherished daughter of her late parents, Leslie Linwood Deickman and Viola Mildred Koepper.

She was the beloved wife of the late Bertram Engler and the loving mother of Paul Engler his wife Deb and Carol Engler Hale. Dorothy was predeceased by her daughter Sharon Engler, her son Gregory Engler, her sister Mildred Dreier, and her brothers Leslie and Robert Deickman.

Her spirit lives on through her sister Jean Grace, her grandchildren Holly Engler Shirey, Davanna, Charity, Kerrie Hall, Christopher Engler, Stephen Engler his spouse Suzie, Aaron Hale his spouse McKayla, Paige Hale Khatta, her spouse Manish, and Ryan Hale. Her great-grandchildren Josh and Brittany Hall, Carson Barber, Dylan Volpicelli and Jaxon Engler, Cameron, Wyatt, and Owen Hale, Meena, Kalin, Kushal, and Makshi Khatta, along with her numerous nieces and nephews will also hold her memory very dear.

Dorothy was a member of Glen Burnie Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school in her earlier years. Her kindness and grace touched all aspects of her life and the lives of those around her.

Her positive attitude was infectious, and her clever humor brought laughter and light into the lives of all who knew her. She had a unique way of finding joy and could turn any moment into a cherished memory with her wit and warmth.

Dorothy's love for romantic comedies knew no bounds, often filling the room with laughter as she watched her favorite films like James Stewart in "Harvey" and Cary Grant in "Arsenic and Old Lace" at full volume.

Dorothy's ashes will be laid to rest beside her husband in Loudon Park Cemetery, a place she held dear in her heart.

Rest in peace, dear Dorothy. You have left this world better than you found it, and your presence will forever be missed.
