Dorothy E. Riggs, 99, went home to be with the Lord on July 28, 2012.
She was born in Akron and was a lifetime area resident. Dorothy was a member of Northwest Avenue Church of Christ, a former member of Ellestar Chapter OES and had played the organ and piano at West Akron Church of Christ.
Preceded in death by her husband, Merle, she is survived by special friends, Jim and Debbie Buck and her church family.
Graveside service will be FRIDAY, 10 a.m. at Hillside Memorial Park, 1025 Canton Rd., Akron, with Pastor Scott Baker officiating. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Northwest Ave. Church of Christ, 737 Northwest Ave., Tallmadge, OH 44278.
