Dorothy L. Wagner, 89, died Jan. 26, 2013.
She was born in Wilmore, Pa. to parents, William A. and Meta M. Koch Crum on Dec. 20, 1923. Dorothy was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Cuyahoga Falls Rife and Pistol Club achieving the rank of sharpshooter, the bowling league, Secretary's Guild of America and the International Society of Poets where her poems were read at the Poetry Convention and Emporium in Hollywood, Calif. A copy of the poem hangs in the Hall of Honor in California and her poems were published in the United States and England.
Preceded in death by husband, Frank; grandson, Anthony Justin Wagner; and sisters, Ruth, Esther and Hazel; she is survived by son, Kenneth (Kris) Wagner of Toledo; daughter, Eileen (John) Chiera of Akron; grandchildren, Jonas, Thomas, Andrew, and Jamie (Alex) Chiera, Krista (Keith) Barber, Capt. Phillip (Lauren) Wagner, U.S.M.C., and Justin Petrosino (Wagner); and great-granddaughter, June Barber.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Billow FALLS Chapel, 1907 23rd St., (corner of 23rd St. and Falls Ave.) with Rev. Robert E. Linsz officiating. Interment at Northlawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Gardens of Western Reserve, 45 Chart Rd., Cuyahoga Falls 44223 or Summa Palliative Care and Hospice, P.O. Box 2090, Akron 44398.
