Douglas M. Jenison, 37, loving father and husband, passed away July 16, 2015.
Born in Akron, Ohio, he graduated from Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy, where he excelled in wrestling. He continued that passion when he attended the University of Mount Union, where he graduated with dual majors in Environmental Biology and German Linguistics. He went on to work at the Kenneth Calhoun Research Laboratory at Akron General Medical Center before choosing to serve his country by joining the Army.
During his first tour of duty, he served in Afghanistan as a chemical weapons officer. In his second tour, he served in Iraq and achieved the rank of Captain and received an honorable discharge. Douglas used his G.I. Bill to attain his MBA degree and later received his RN degree from the University of Akron. He went on to work at Cleveland Clinic hospitals in intensive care and the Veterans Administration hospital on the spinal ward. He was working toward his doctorate at the time of his passing.
He is survived by his wife, Jennifer; children, Aiden and Addison; parents, Eric and Nancy; brothers, Eric Jr. (Allison), Thomas (Denise), David (Majda); and six nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd. Private interment with military honors will be held at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
