Dr. Kennard Chandler Ford

Dr. Kennard Chandler Ford, 63, of Akron, Ohio passed away on February 18, 2021.  He was born May 10, 1957 in Akron to Dr. Manley L. and Virginia Wager Ford.

A graduate of Twinsburg’s R.B. Chamberlin High School, The Ohio State University and the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, Ken married his high school sweetheart Jean (nee Lane) and they raised two children together.

Ken dedicated his life to the practice of medicine, caring for patients at Summa Akron City Hospital and Edwin Shaw Rehabilitation Hospital for more than 30 years.

Ken’s hobbies included classic automobiles, vintage Hi-Fi electronics, the Cleveland Orchestra, the Cleveland Indians and delightfully sharing his incredible knowledge of the most obscure facts about an amazingly broad range of subjects.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Jean; son, Kennard Chandler (Jessie) and grandson, Kennard, daughter, Catherine Marie (Jason) DuBois and grandson, Grayson; siblings, Terry Ford (Thomas) Sosnowski, Trent Ford, Manley Ford Jr., Kirwin (Jeanie) Ford, and by the Lane family, Mary Lou Ford plus many cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Ken’s priority was to keep everyone safe. Services will be private, and the family asks that you join them virtually. A public celebration of life will be held this Summer.

Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 27, 2021. Due to Covid19 restrictions, physical attendance at the services will be limited to close family members only. Services will be live-streamed on the Billow Funeral Home Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/BillowFuneralHomes
