Duane F Garman

Duane F. Garman, 98, died February 9, 2014.

Born in Akron, he was a member of the 1st Christian Church of Massillon, Adoniram-Joppa Lodge #517 F&AM and the Scottish Rite, Valley of Akron. Duane had been active with the Soap Box Derby, the Y.M.C.A. and very active at High Street Christian Church, serving as superintendent of Sunday School and also as a deacon and elder. He retired from the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company having worked as a technical design and development engineer in retread development.

He is survived by his wife of 74 years, Marjory; sons, Denis E. (Dee) and David L. (Marti) of Cuyahoga Falls; daughters, Joyce E. (Charles) Cashion of Canton and Jenifer (Jim) Murphy of Massillon; 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren; niece, Linda and nephew, Larry (Sandy).

Duane's family wish to thank the staff at Park Village for their concern and compassion for both his care and Marjory's continued well being.

Services will be held 1 p.m. THURSDAY at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd. Interment at Glendale Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home WEDNESDAY from 5 to 8 p.m. where Adoniram-Joppa Lodge #517 F&AM will conduct services. Memorials may be made to one's favorite charity. (Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel)
