A bright light has gone out in this world. It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved son, Dustin MacKenzie Frlich , 27, of Copley, Ohio, on Monday, September 30, 2024.
Dustin was born in Akron, Ohio and resided most of his life in Copley, as well as Tempe, Arizona and Columbus, Ohio. He attended Copley-Fairlawn City Schools where he was involved in several sports, especially football and track. Dustin was always ready to try something new. He earned his Eagle Scout as a member of Troop #380. With his father, he participated in many high adventures while in Scouts. Dustin attended Arizona State University, where he achieved his degree in Biochemistry. While attending college in the southwest, his adventurous spirit took him on many road trips throughout much of the western states with his loyal dog, Kira. His great love of adventure and the outdoors inspired him to explore through skiing, golfing, and camping. His great passion was skiing in the Colorado Rockies, especially Crested Butte.
Dustin was preceded in death by grandparents Waldo and Anna Frlich and Ruth Anderson, Uncle Lev Anderson, and brother Matt Frlich.
He is survived by his loving parents, Frank and Margie Frlich; siblings, Frank (Lauren) LaRose, Abbie Frlich, Sarah (Scott) Maciejewski, Tommy (Kelly) LaRose, and Myriah Frlich, and grandfather, Lev Anderson. Uncle Dustin was beloved by all his nieces and nephews, Nathan Cross (nephew/best friend), Hadley, Ellie, and Lainey LaRose, Preston, AJ, and Elyse Maciejewski, Vinny, Ashton, and Elliot LaRose, and Matthew and Mya Frlich. Aunts and Uncles, Wally (Oma) Frlich, Mike Frlich, Carol (Larry) Holden, Sue (Jeff) Hays, Annie (Troy W.) Johnson, Sandi (Bill) Cole, and Tom(Kathy) Anderson, and many loving cousins, and friends, especially Karim Hajj, Jay Farell, Joe Lombardi, and his beloved dog, Kira.
Dustin was that rare individual in that he cared about everybody and everything. He had the ability to make you feel like you were the only one in the room. Dustin was a peacemaker and he had a great curiosity for knowledge and for life in general. He had a beautiful passion for plants and all living/growing things and he tended his plants with tender, loving care.
