Barbara entered heaven at, 94 years of age, April 11, 2013.
She began her journey in 1919 in Erie, Pa., was the daughter of Carl and Edith Guerrein, and lived there for 37 years. She attended St. John's grade school, Villa Maria High School and graduated valedictorian from Villa Maria College.
Barbara lived in Euclid, Ohio for 15 years, and then Ashtabula, Ohio for 35 years where she was a realtor for Harbor Realty and a member of Mother of Sorrows Parish. Barbara's final move was to Akron, living first at Francesca Residence then at Concordia at Sumner. She will be remembered for her strong principles, her caring nature, her fashion sense and her love of music.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Joseph A. Hart; her parents; her brother, Carl J. Guerrein; her sister, Virginia Nevin; grandson, Joseph Nichols; and great-granddaughter, Rachel Nichols. Survivors include daughters, Joanne Hart, Judith (Dan) Nichols, Patricia (Lowell) Pettit, Margaret (Stephen) Prebonick; and son, Thomas (Candace) Hart; 16 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren; sister, Audrey Steinker of Erie, Pa.; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call SUNDAY from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Francesca Residence, 39 North Portage Path, Akron 44303. Calling hours in Erie, Pa. will be held from 9:30 to 11 a.m. MONDAY at Brugger Funeral Home, 1595 W. 38th St. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Noon MONDAY at St. Luke Catholic Church, 421 E 38th St, Erie, PA 16504, followed by interment at Calvary Cemetery. A luncheon at the Colony Banquet Center on Route 5 will follow. Memorials may be made to Francesca Residence.
