Edith M. McCauley, 86, passed away December 31, 2012 at home.
Born March 17, 1926 in Atlanta, Georgia, she graduated cum laude from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Home Economics. She worked with her husband, Dr. Philip C. McCauley in their dental office in Copley and was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. Edith was a certified graphoanalyst, an artist, an avid health and fitness enthusiast, and also enjoyed sewing, cooking and reading.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Dr. Philip C. McCauley; children, Lyn McCauley Rankin, Lee (Mary) McCauley and Dr. Laurie McCauley (Dr. Jessy Grizzle); grandchildren, Amanda Rankin (Cory) Fosbrink, Joshua and Elijah Rankin, Erin (Mark) Lyons, Ryan and Evan McCauley; great-grandchildren Hanna and Cody Fosbrink and Brady Lyons; sisters, Beverly Bennett and Lois Seabolt; niece, Dr. Karen Riccio (Rev. Al Deblak) and nephew, Chris (Donna) Riccio.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. SATURDAY at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., with Rev. Eileen Woyen officiating. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Visiting Nurse Service and Hospice Akron General Development Foundation, 400 Wabash Ave., Akron, OH 44307 or to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 50 N. Prospect St., Akron, OH 44304.
