Edward M Hearty

Edward Michael Hearty, 58 of Akron, Ohio passed away at home Saturday, November 30th.

Edward was born in Akron and attended Walsh Jesuit High School. He continued his education at Hillsdale College in Michigan, graduating with a B.A. He then returned to Akron to work in sales at the Imperial Electric Company. He pursued many entrepreneurial endeavors which took him and his family to Texas and Colorado, before returning to Akron in 2009.

Edward is preceded in death by his father, Richard J. and brothers, William and Hugh. He leaves behind his loving family: wife, Jayne (Pedler) of Akron; son, Owen M. and daughter, Emily E., both of Colorado; his mother, Mary R. of Akron; siblings, Kathy (David) Roberts of Montana, Richard (Becky) of Tennessee, Owen (Laura), and Stacey of Akron; sisters in-law, Pam Hutchinson of Arizona, Stevie Pedler of Massachusetts, Debie (Kim) McQuaite of Canada and brother in-law, Jim Pedler of South Dakota. He also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and cherished friends.

Edward was an avid reader and had a great passion for history, art and music. He enjoyed family functions and was an outgoing and spirited conversationalist. He especially enjoyed Akron's Skyway and Swenson's, whether it be with family or his treasured English Mastiffs, Moose, Chelsea and Rufus.

The family will receive friends 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Friday at St. Hilary's Catholic Church, 2750 W. Market St., followed by private family interment.
