Eileen J. Crist

Eileen J. Crist, 95, died September 1, 2014.

Born in New Haven, Connecticut, Eileen worked at Goodyear Aircraft during World War II where she met her future husband, Harry J. Crist. They were married Jan. 25, 1947. She went back to work in 1960 at a small company, Morgan Adhesives in Stow, Ohio. She worked there until she retired in 1992 at the age of 73. She then volunteered at St. Paul's Epsicopal Church, Akron General Medical Center and Weathervane Theater. She loved to read, entertain and travel. She made many trips to England, Ireland, Scotland, Australia, New Zeland, Hawaii and Alaska. Eileen's wonderful nature could be summed up in three words, love, laugh and cheers.

Preceded in death by her husband, Harry in 1991 after 45 years of happy marriage; parents, Thomas J. and Beatrice Joyce; sister, Kathleen Joyce and step-son Don Crist, Sr.; she is survived by her grandchildren, D'Lynn (Rick) Underwood, LaDona (Brian-deceased) Coll and Don Crist, Jr., all of Florida; great grandchildren, Ricky Underwood, Allison Coll, Amanda Roy, Alyssa and T.J. Crist; several cousins in England, and faithful companion, Nickolas.

Services will be held 11 a.m. FRIDAY in the Chapel at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, with Rev. Mark J. Pruitt officiating. Interment at Oakwood Cemetery. Friends may call at the Billow FALLS Chapel, 1907 23rd St. THURSDAY from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials may be made to St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 1361 W. Market St., Akron, Ohio 44313. (Billow FALLS Chapel)
