Elaine Shinko

Elaine Shinko , age 75, passed away on Monday, October 10, 2022, at the Village of St. Edward. Born November 28, 1946 in Hazleton, Pennsylvania, to the late Anthony John (Jack) and Bertha Shinko, she is survived by her sister, Patricia Shinko, Falls Church, VA, her niece Meredyth Shinko, Arlington, VA, and her sister-friend Melinda Holmes, Akron, OH.
Elaine had a BA (magna cum laude) and a MA from Kent State University.  A KSU teaching fellow and sociology department advisor for almost two years, she served nearly six years as admissions coordinator of KSU's Graduate School of Management.

Elaine taught undergraduate and guest-lectured in upper-division social psychology and gerontology classes.  She held numerous private sector positions in the areas of organizational development and management, research and evaluation, and sales and marketing.
Very active in the Northeast Ohio Chapter of the American Society for Training & Development, including serving as President one year, Elaine was awarded the Chapter Achievement Award in 1986.
