Eleanora Elly Davis Pim, 92, died May 8, 2011 at the Crown Center at Laurel Lake.
Born in Akron, she received her A.B. and M.A. Degrees from Ohio Wesleyan University. Mrs. Pim started her career as an English teacher at Wadsworth High School. In 1946 she accepted a position as a YWCA staff administrator and served the YWCA until her retirement in 1978. In 1961, Mrs. Pim was chosen as one of the YWCA's U.S. ``Goodwill Ambassadors' to Latin America. From 1962 to 1968 she was the Advisory Secretary of the Girls Service Center in Istanbul, Turkey. In 1973, Mrs. Pim served on the New York City National Board and was the International Affairs program director for the YWCA. In 1974 she participated in the Latin America/United States Exchange Project. Mrs. Pim was also active in the YWCA Asian Program from 1977 to 1979, which included a study tour of the Philippines and Thailand in the spring of 1978.
Preceded in death by her husband, Lorin and cousins, Mollie McKisson and Lynn Herndon; she is survived by her step-daughter, Mary Pim David Margulies of Bethesda, Md.; step-son, Dr. Ralph Lorin Linda Pim of West Point, N.Y.; two step-grandchildren; and cousin, Judith Folk.
A memorial service will be held at the First Congregational Church in Hudson, Ohio on June 5 at 3 p.m. Private inurnment at Bath Center Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
