Our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and friend Elizabeth Calhoun Bouton passed away on December 23, 2020 at the age of 94. Elizabeth (Hebby) was born on April 10, 1926 in Montour Falls, NY to Harry and Elizabeth Calhoun (deceased). After graduating early from high school, having skipped a grade, she attended Edgewood Junior College in Briarcliff Manor, NY. Elizabeth moved to New York City where she worked as a secretary. During this time, she boarded at Trinity House in Brooklyn where she met many long term friends, and most importantly the love of her life, George William Bouton. They were married in 1948 and enjoyed fifty two years together. In 1958, after spending ten years in the New York/New Jersey area, they moved to Bath, Ohio where they raised their five children. Elizabeth was a long standing member of the Bath United Church of Christ where she was the organist for several years. Her focus and priority was always on her family. She never missed a football, baseball, or basketball game; band concert, school event, or any of her children’s activities. She also loved to cook and was overjoyed when her house was full of family. She even continued to host the entire family for either Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner into her early 90s. When she wasn’t cooking, she was holding her newborn grandchildren then her great grandchildren.
Elizabeth is survived by her five children: Jill of Medina, OH, Richard (Dale, deceased) of Castlerock, Colorado, Susan Schmitt (Don Hoffman) of Strongsville, OH, David (Lynne) of Lakewood Ranch, FL, and Jim of Bath, OH.
