Elizabeth J. ``Betty' Cline Burchett, 81, passed away October 18, 2011 after a courageous battle with cancer. Betty was a life long resident of Akron and had served the community in various volunteer capacities. She was a past president of the Akron PTA, served on the committee for the creation of the Summit County Library and worked on the team that was instrumental in preserving the Old Stone School House in downtown Akron.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Inez and Charles Estep of Akron. She is survived by her daughters, Bernadine Burchett Peggy Zanin of Akron, Brenda Bittermann of Columbus, and her beloved granddaughter, Megan Inez Zanin. She is also survived by her foster brother, Charles Thurman Betty and their sons, James, Bob and Doug; her friends at Center Towers and her four legged friends, Austin, Cleo and Susie. Betty's family would like to thank the nursing and aide staff at Rockynol Retirement Community and VNS/Hospice for taking such extraordinary and loving care of our mother at the end of her life.
A celebration of her life will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, October 23rd, at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., where friends may call one hour before, Rev.
