Elleen French Lease, age 87, loving wife, mother, daughter, grandmother and great-grandmother, left this life peacefully at home in Bradenton, FL on Saturday, April 7, 2018.
Elleen was born Feb. 6,1931 in Cape May, NJ and lived in OH until her retirement from Ohio Bell when she moved to FL near her parents, sister and daughter. She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Akron, OH and a member of the Ohio Billow chapter of the Order of Eastern Star. She loved to travel during her retirement and was an avid reader. Elleen was a generous giver and was loved by many she encountered throughout her lifetime.
She is survived by her daughter, Margy Lease; grandchildren, Melissa Paal (husband Kristopher), Matthew Guran (wife Kassandra), Christian R. Lease (wife Sarah C. Forte); great grandchildren, Jordan Thompson, Abigail and Ethan Guran, and Aaron Paal; son-in-law, John Guran; sister-in-law, Janice Smith; as well as nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter R. Lease; daughter, Linda S Lease Guran; parents, J. Donald Smith and Elleen French Smith; brother, J. Donald Smith, Jr.; and sister, Susan I. Fast.
A funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 16 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 50 N. Prospect St., Akron 44304. Remembrances in her name may be made to Wildlife Inc, Education and Rehabilitation Center in Bradenton, Florida (
