Enid Green

February 16, 1915 — March 9, 2013

Enid Mabel Green, 98, of Akron, died Saturday, March 9, 2013 after a brief illness.

She was born February 26, 1915 in Akron to Richard and Mabel Woolcock formerly of Penzance, England. She graduated from West High School and attended both the University of Akron and Ohio State University where she was affiliated with Sigma Kappa sorority.

During the depression, she founded the Woolcock Five and Dime store at Five Points in Akron. As a young woman, she was employed as an accountant/bookkeeper. During her years as a homemaker, she was also involved in the family business, Woolcock Plumbing and Heating. In her later years, Enid loved reading, her Dandie Dinmont terrier, Turner Classic Movies and her home in which she lived independently until her brief illness.

Enid is survived by son, Richard (Joanne) Green; daughter, Vicki Wollenzier all of Cuyahoga Falls; and grandchildren, Erin Ferber of Hoboken, New Jersey and Christopher Green of Austin, Texas.
