Ernest Robert Daly

CUYAHOGA FALLS -- E. Robert "Bob" Daly passed away on March 17, 2011.
A life long resident of the area, Bob was born in Akron on January 24th 1932. He graduated from East High School and received both a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Education from the University of Akron. He was employed by the Akron Board of Education, first as a teacher, and then as a guidance counselor for 35 years, retiring from his Alma Mater at East High in 1990. Bob served as an officer in the United States Air Force from 1953 through 1955, and later in the Air Force Reserves and Ohio Air National Guard. He retired after 20 years service in the Guard as a Lieutenant Colonel.
Preceded in death by his parents, Ernest U. and Mary Daly; Bob is survived by his wife of 57 years, Joanne; son, Michael Valerie; daughter, Anne Mourkas Tony; grandchildren, Margaret and Michael Mourkas; as well as many friends, students and colleagues. Bob loved to golf, travel, and read and will be dearly missed by all those whose lives he touched.
Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Monday at the Billow FALLS Chapel, 1907 23rd St., Cuyahoga Falls with Pastor Paul Markland officiating. Friends may call 12 to 2 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Friends of the Cuyahoga Falls Public Library.
