Ernest H. "Sonny" Stecker, Jr., 85, passed away April 10, 2014.
He was born February 11, 1929 in Akron and was a graduate of West High School, Class of 1948. A U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, he was a former Copley Kiwanian, meat manager at Emery's Copley Sparkle Market for 25 years, and retired from Apple's as meat manager.
Preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Sr. and Laura Stecker; sister, Louise Knepper and wife of fifty years, Anita Mae Stecker (nee Blakey); he is survived by his loving children, Ernest III "Butch" (Cindy), Lesa (Dr. William) Morisak, Jeff (Danette) and John Eric Stecker; grandchildren, Blake, Emily, Lacey, Jared, Kelli, Kristi, Will, Karli and David; beloved dogs, Jett, Daisy and Dexter.
There are no calling hours or services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to any local animal shelter. (Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel)
