Esther V. Dilley

Esther V. Dilley, 94, died July 11, 2017.

A sweet and gentle woman, Esther Virginia Dilley, passed from earthly presence on July 11, 2017.
The daughter of Erick and Anna Anderson, she was born in Akron on April 22, 1923. Esther graduated from Buchtel High School, attended the University of Akron and met her love, Donald W. Dilley on that campus. They were married in 1950 and Esther stayed at home to raise their four children with love, strength and kindness. Esther volunteered In the Akron community through out her lifetime. In retirement, Esther and Donald enjoyed traveling with friends. She was a devoted wife and caregiver until Donald's death in 2008.
Along with her parents and husband, Esther was predeceased by her brothers, Einar (Martha) and Robert (Rosemarie) and her sister, Margaret (Maynard) Seese. She is survived by her four children: David (Lessia), Diane Pyle, Donna (Larry) Lupton and Denise (Kevin) Schaffner. She took great joy in her grandchildren, Lynsey (Nate) Whisner, Curtis (Nikkee) Pyle, Alison Pyle; Zachary and David Lupton; and Shelby, Shannon, Erick and Kendall Schaffner; as well as her great grandchildren, Chase and Emory Whisner; and Corten, Celek and Crew Pyle. Also remembering Esther with love is her friend and caregiver, Karyn Falor.
Private graveside services were held at Rose Hill Burial Park. A public memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 12th, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 50 N. Prospect Ave, Akron OH 44304. The family will receive guests at 11:00 AM and the memorial service will begin at 12:00. Following the service, family and friends are invited to a luncheon.
