May 29, 1997 - October 13, 2021
Ethan Michael Mabee (24) lost his battle with addiction on Wednesday, October 13, 2021. Ethan had struggled for years to conquer this disease, but losses in his life proved too much for him to overcome. We have lost a beautiful, kind-hearted person in all of our lives. Ethan was born May 29, 1997 to parents, Teri (Gelatka) Mabee and Michael Mabee. He graduated from Revere High School in 2015 and attended Stark State College from 2019-2020. Ethan had the biggest heart and was equally as stubborn. He loved music and enjoyed concerts of all kinds. He loved being outdoors and camping with friends, fishing and going swimming anywhere there was water. Basketball was his favorite sport and he especially loved watching the Cavs and the Browns, win or lose. Skateboarding with “tunes” was his favorite pastime as well. Ethan also enjoyed family gatherings and getting together on holidays or just hanging out on a Saturday. His sense of humor and his loving heart will be missed more than anyone can know. He had so much potential to do many more things and love to share with many more people.
Ethan was preceded in death by his grandfather, Dr. G. William Mabee and cousin, Sarah Mabee. Ethan is survived by his parents, Teri (Gelatka) Mabee and Michael Mabee, brother, William Mabee; grandparents, “Papo” William and Marjorie Gelatka, Sylvia Mabee; aunts and uncles, Lori (Gelatka) and Michael Gibb, Dr. Scott and Ellen Mabee, Dr. Michelle (Mabee) and Michael Gilvannelli, Dr. Christopher and Kimberly Mabee, Stuart and Stephanie Mabee, and numerous cousins and many other important family members and friends. A special thank you to Samantha (Mabee) and Blake Moore for all your love, friendship and support to Ethan.
A memorial service will be held at The Bath Church, United the Church of Christ, 3980 West Bath Road Akron, Ohio 44333, on October 28, 2021 at 4:00 pm. A gathering to celebrate his life will be held immediately following the service for friends and family at the Gibb Residence.
