Eugene Bako

April 4, 1934 — January 30, 2014

Eugene Bako, 79, went home to be with the Lord on January 30, 2014.

Born in Márfa, Hungary April 4, 1934 to Gábor & Julianna Bakó, he immigrated to the United States in 1957, and became a self-employed mason contractor who specialized in ornate brick work. Eugene was a kind and generous man who knew the meaning of hard work as he labored tirelessly for his large family. He loved to travel to his homeland to work in his vineyard, enjoyed cooking, gardening, and raising chickens, rabbits, and other farm animals. His grandchildren brought him great joy and happiness, and he delighted in being with them and giving them candy! He peacefully succumbed to the effects of CHF and stroke at the Ridgewood Road Hospice, surrounded by his wife and children, who look forward to one day being reunited with him in Heaven.

Preceded in death by his parents, and 11 brothers and sisters, infant daughter, Barbara Ruth, and son, Eugene Jr., lovingly nicknamed JenA'ke; he is survived by his wife, Dianna (Hunyadi) Bako, with whom he was blessed to celebrate 50 years of marriage; children, Valerie (Attila) Csepe, John (Vanessa) Bako, Tom (Laura) Bako, Joy (John) Harabedian, Tamar (Zoltan) Namenyi, Amy (Dan) Reljin, and Sarah (Amos) Maibach; grandchildren, Ellen (Brett) Morr, Morgan (Alex) Spickard, & Justin Csepe; John Paul, Jozsef Anthony & soon to be born Santiago JenA' Bako; Zalán Botond & Eszter Julianna Bako; Katelyn & John Harabedian; Zoltan, Claudia, David, Oliver & Roman Namenyi; Hanna, Gabriella & Klara Reljin; Andrea, Jack, Ava Julianna, Gabriel & Jonah Maibach; and his brother Sándor Bakó of Copley, and many nieces and nephews in America and in Hungary.
