Eva Davis, longtime resident of West Akron, died September 6, 2010 in Bedford Massachusetts.
She was born on December 4, 1924 in Vienna Austria and immigrated to the United States in 1939 with her parents eventually settling in Akron, which became her lifelong home. She graduated from West High School in 1944 attended the Actual Business College Business College of Akron Ohio and briefly worked at the Storm King Company. She married William Davis, founder of Akron Tire Supply Co. in 1949 and, thereafter, devoted herself to caring for her family. Besides her family she loved traveling the world, which she did with her husband, by herself following his death, and later with her grandchildren.
Eva was predeceased by her father and mother, Frederic and Herma Popper, and her husband, William Davis. She is survived by her son, Richard Davis, and daughter-in-law, Marilyn Blaess of North Fayston Vermont; her son, Steven Davis and daughter-in- law, Barb Davis of Bedford Massachusetts, and grandchildren, Seth Davis, Graham Davis, and Zoe Davis.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, October 1, 2010 at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Akron, 3300 Morewood Rd, Fairlawn, OH 44333, 330 836-2206 followed by a reception. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the America Cancer Society .
