Mrs. Campbell was born in Williamsport, Pa., on September 27, 1917 to William George and Eva Hamm. She graduated from South Side High School in Williamsport, and was wed to William H. Campbell, the love of her life, on May 8, 1941. For 61 years they had a faithful and loving relationship, partners in every way. She was predeceased in 2002 by Mr. Campbell, retired Senior Vice President of Sales and Customer Service for the B.F. Goodrich Tire Division.
A prominent member of the Akron community, Mrs. Campbell contributed her time and talents to her family, St. Hilary Church, and the charities she supported. Mrs. Campbell served on the Women's Auxiliary Board of the Summit County Children's Home for over 25 years, receiving special commendation for her contribution. She enjoyed working at their thrift shop, the New and Nearly New, where she dressed the windows for all seasons, using her talent and flair for fashion.
Mrs. Campbell was an avid golfer who played in ladies leagues at Good Park and Bath. She also bowled at Fairlawn Lanes. Mrs. Campbell enjoyed her friends, her lovely home and rose garden, and, above all, cherished her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
