Evelyn Springston Tambling
Evelyn Springston Tambling, 90, died peacefully on May 12, 2009, with family present, at Sedgewood Commons, Falmouth, Maine, where she had resided for the last four years.
She was born March 2, 1919, in Akron, Ohio, where she lived most of her life. She will be remembered for her gentle and graceful nature, and as a wonderful, cherished mother and grandmother who took a lively interest in her grandchildren's lives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Addie Springston; sister, Ethel Springston; and brothers, Bernard and Ronnie Springston of Akron. She is survived by daughters, Patricia Evelyn Tambling Lutz James of Athens, Georgia, Laura Tambling Malhotra Devinder of Gorham, Maine; son, Dr. Fred R. Tambling Victoria of Huntington, West Virginia; grandchildren, Byron Fred Lutz Robin Heider of Washington, D.C., Christopher Tambling Lutz of Athens, Georgia, Jimmy Sturm Jenny of Raleigh, North Carolina, Dr. Amanda Bennett Ashley of Huntington, West Virginia; great-grandaughter, Ellie Mae Sturm; brother, Ralph Springston of Texas; loving nieces and nephews.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, May 18 at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., with Rev. Duane Angel officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday, 4 to 6 p.m. Should friends desire, memorials may be made to Beacon Hospice, 54 Atlantic Place, S. Portland, Maine, 04106.
