Fai Champasouk

January 12, 1945 — April 29, 2022

Loving husband, father, and grandfather, Fai Champasouk passed away on April 29, 2022 at the age of 77 at his home surrounded by his family.

Fai was born on January 12, 1945 in Chomchang, Laos. He was one of eight children and learned the importance of family and country early on. At the age of 21, Fai joined the army and bravely served to fight communist rule in Laos. He was a hard-working father and husband who helped bring his family of eight to America for a better life. He continued his life of service as a devoted member of the Laos temple, dedicating his time, resources, and heart to the Laos community of Akron.

He is survived by his wife Thongla Champasouk, his children, Sommay Phanhthourath, Khamsay Rassavong, Somsay Champasouk, Bounlay Champasouk, Saychay Charurnsouk, Dao Champasouk, his 14 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren. Fai will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

A funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, May 7, 2022 from 1 pm – 3 pm at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., and calling hours are scheduled for Friday, May 6, 2022 from 5pm – 7 pm at the funeral home.
