Fern L Long

Fern Louise Long, 90, died July 24, 2015 in Hudson, Florida.

Born in Akron October 31, 1924 to Birch and Katherine Pfouts Haskins, she moved to the Portage Lakes area in 1965 and has resided in Florida since 2005. A member of Lockwood United Methodist Church, she was a registered nurse and retired nursing home administrator.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John R. Long; son, James R. Long and sister, Jean (Sewell) Turner. She is survived by her son, David C. (Carolyn) Long; daughter-in-law, Cynthia Long; five grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; sister, Retta (Charles) Billow; nieces and nephews.

Services will be held 1 P.M. THURSDAY at Lockwood United Methodist Church, with Rev. Dale R. Gharky and Rev. Dale Turner officiating. Interment at East Liberty Cemetery. Friends may call at the church Thursday from Noon until the service begins. Should friend desire, memorials may be made to Lockwood United Methodist Church, 3680 Manchester Rd., Akron, Ohio 44319.
