Florence Close Grimm
Florence Close Grimm Grandma Flo, 100, passed away peacefully January 28, 2009 at St. Luke Lutheran Community-Portage Lakes.
Florence is survived by her two granddaughters, Katie Chris Seasholtz of Delaware, Ohio and Judy Jeff Neusser of Akron; daughter-in-law, Sue Close of Akron; four great- grandchildren, Luke and Taylor Seasholtz, Benjamin and Abigail Neusser; niece, Joan Herm Ceccardi of Hudson.
Born May 23, 1908 in Millersburg, Ohio, to Iva W. and John Dugan, Florence lived most of her life in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. She was a graduate of Ohio State University where she was a member of the Alpha Xi Delta sorority. Florence was a member of the Cuyahoga Falls Women's City Club and the First Christian Church of Cuyahoga Falls and a retiree of The Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company.
Grandma Flo will be remembered for her quiet sense of humor, her love of baking, her sweet tooth as well as her zest for life. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
The family would like to extend thanks to the loving and caring staff of St. Luke Lutheran Community-Portage Lakes for their exceptional care given to her during the last year.
A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Monday at the First Christian Church of Cuyahoga Falls, 2253 3rd St., with Rev. Gail Lindsey officiating. Private inurnment at Chestnut Hill Memorial Park. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be given in her name to First Christian Church of Cuyahoga Falls or St. Luke Lutheran Community-Portage Lakes.
